Westwood Hotel Supporting Operation Transformation & Cancer Care West

There is little doubt that the 12 taxi drivers from Galway Taxis surpassed themselves during their recent participation in the RTE show Operation Transformation.

Not only did the taxi drivers lose an average of 24.5 lbs each during the 8 week weight loss campaign, but they also succeeded in exceeding their fundraising target of €25,000 for Cancer Care West.

The Westwood Hotel as one of the driver sponsors pledged €50 for each pound reduction that their nominated taxi driver, Terry Dolan from Moycullen, achieved.

Terry succeeded in losing 20 lbs weight and the Westwood Hotel very kindly made a donation of €1,000 to Cancer Care West earlier this week.

Speaking at the presentation of the cheque David Kelly, General Manager of The Westwood, said that he was delighted to count Cancer Care West among one of the many worthwhile causes which The Westwood supports over the course of the year and he paid tribute to the hardwork of all those involved, and especially Terry, in achieving such a successful outcome.
